Biography
Mark Wilcox has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance coverage, litigation, and trial areas, concentrating in counseling and litigation for financial services companies, corporations and individuals. Much of Mark’s career has involved the representation of financial services companies and their representatives/agents, as well as lawyers, accountants, employee benefit plan consultants, third-party administrators, real estate agents, title agents, other professionals and their principals and/or liability insurers. He has served as national supervisory claims and insurance coverage counsel for both insurer and self-insured clients.
Mark has drafted, interpreted, counseled about and/or litigated the policy wordings of first party, fidelity/criminal, life/health, property/casualty, professional indemnity and medical malpractice policies; and represents self-insureds and insurers on first-and third-party insurance issues. He also has experience in construction and architects and engineers claims, and has represented clients in accreditation matters before private, state and federal administrative tribunals.
Mark has tried insurance, contract, personal injury, professional liability and criminal cases to verdict. He has also tried matters before the National Labor Relations Board and has handled other labor, employment practices and wage/hour matters before the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Human Rights Commission, and the Illinois Department of Labor.
A frequent author and speaker on insurance coverage, professional liability and litigation/trial topics before bar, financial service industry and trade groups, Mark is listed in Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who In America, and Illinois Super Lawyers.
